Once again, we are here to present to you another extremely valuable person from our Due diligence team. This person is at the core of many projects and always makes sure those are run smoothly and perfectly executed.
Meet Slavena
A project coordinator with a great sense of humor, who always makes sure the final deadline is met and the project is of the highest quality – this is Slavena! From assisting her friends to find things on Google to coordinating big and complex projects, she does it all!
Please tell us a little bit about yourself
Ça va? It is me, Slavena! I was raised by my grandparents in the small town of Levski until I was 10 years old. In fifth grade, I moved to the town of Sevlievo to live with my parents where I graduated from Vasil Levski High School. Since I didn’t want to live close to my parents (sorry guys), I went to study in one of the oldest cities in the world – Plovdiv. I graduated from the University of Plovdiv with a degree in Linguistics (English and French) & IT (don’t mind the IT part). My hobbies include listening to audiobooks, buying cooking books (which I never use), and helping my friends find things on Google.
What is your ADP Story?
When I was in my last year at the university, a guest teacher from ADP showed me how to do a site search… The rest is history. I started in July 2017 as a part-time employee, and a couple of months later (on my birthday) I became a full-time Due diligence analyst with French. As of 2019, I am one of the coordinators of the Due diligence team. I work closely with team members, managers, and clients to assure projects run smoothly.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your work in ADP?
My biggest achievement yet is gaining the trust of my colleagues who gave me the chance not only to grow as a professional but as an individual.
What would you advise your younger self?
Wear sunscreen and stick to the deadlines.
We live in a dynamic world. How do you expect the industry you work in to change over the next 12 months? (ex. interesting tendencies, trends, latest developments etc.)
In the next 12 months, I expect that the newly imposed sanctions on Russia will require companies to refresh their due diligence and sanctions screening to identify if they are currently transacting with any entities owned or controlled by the new sanctions’ targets. Also, I think more online company information platforms will be created, such as Sayari Graph and ClarifiedBy.
Which fictional character do you feel you’re most like? What traits do you share with them?
When I was little, I was obsessed with the anime television series Sailor Moon. Naturally, I had to choose one of the characters to idolize, to this day that is Sailor Mercury. She is blue-eyed, short, and fashionable. Plus, she likes romance novels but is usually too embarrassed to admit it.
